We live in a complex changing world where organizations place increasing demands on employees. Together with personal, social and environmental pressures, there is a need for both a systems and individual approach to building and maintaining resiliency. Resilience takes into account: Relationship to Self, Relationship to Others & Relationship to the Environment.
Resilience is the capacity we have to manage stress and bounce back from adverse events. It is the ability to adapt to change and rebuild well‑being through maintaining supportive personal and professional networks, living authentically, being true to oneself, setting boundaries, living one’s purpose, maintaining a positive mindset, and living a healthy lifestyle.
Through an initial Discovery Meeting, we’ll have the opportunity to explore what resilience means to you for your organization, your leaders, teams and individuals. We’ll examine what resiliency currently looks like, what your vision for resiliency is in your organization and what steps you need to take to get there.
We may also explore the concept of Psychological Health & Safety in the workplace. The Mental Health Commission of Canada outlines 13 factors addressing mental health in the workplace (resource listed below).
Resilience@Work Model
As a Certified Resilience@Work Practitioner, Jenn integrates the R@W Toolkit into her coaching. The model comprises a set of measures, models and resources that provide a systemic approach to building resilience at work. The model explores individual, leader and team resilience, and begins with a self-assessment.
Kathryn McEwen, Founder and Global Lead of Working With Resilience describes in a detailed white paper, Resilience at Work the philosophy and background to this groundbreaking work.
