About

Céad míle fáilte (A hundred thousand welcomes)!

Hi I’m Jenn. Pretious Coaching is the umbrella  for multiple coaching, wellbeing and consulting offerings.

Why Pretious Coaching & Wellbeing? Pretious (pronounced precious) is my family name which originates from the name Prestwick meaning priest’s farm or house. I am of Angloceltic heritage, hence the trinity knot logo and welcome greeting  “céad míle fáilte “.

The precious stone and metal theme has woven its way through my life as a metaphor for alchemy and luminous diamond brilliance.

Diamonds, essentially crystallized carbon with perfectly organized particles under high pressure and heat conditions, are formed deep within the earth’s mantle over eons.  I see this as a perfect metaphor for the human condition. It is often through adversity that we grow and shine as individuals, especially if we have the wisdom, support and tools to support us through these periods.

“When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are formed under pressure.” – Peter Marshall

A diamond is a symbol of resilience, invincibility, brilliance, and beauty. When expertly cut and polished it has the capacity to transform white light into the full rainbow spectrum.

In the same way, we can learn to mine the gems of hope and opportunity in challenge and change deep within ourselves. And through meaningful inner work we can polish ourselves to shine brightly in the world and do the work we’ve come here to do.

I collaborate with like-minded individuals all the time. If you feel called to alchemize with me, please reach out to me without delay!

Declaration: i am saordh*. i dance. i drum. into the light. with grace and power. i am love. i am liberation. i am awakening.

lionessheart uncaged. set free. wild horse unharnessed. elephant unshackled. here! take my hand.  i cannot liberate nor awaken you, but through my own experience of suffering and wild love liberated, i hold space for your own awakening and liberation.

come dance with me in the space of possibility, where i may illuminate your inner wilderness trapped deep within you, so that you may be set free.

like you, i am the precious diamond formed under pressure and the oak that grows strong in contrary winds. adversity IS my gift. and yours.

i am love. i am awakening. i am liberation. i am sarodh*

*sarodh (pronounced seh-roo) is celtic for liberation

I have been blessed to acquire a diverse set of skills through life and work experience around the planet, as well as a formal education. I am a life-long learner, constantly deepening relationship with myself so that I may better serve my clients.

I began my formal education with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and marketing management studies,  and later change management, organizational and leadership development consulting.

In 2010, I continued to deepen my understanding of human and organizational behaviour, as I followed the path of ICF accredited Certified Professional Coaching (CPC) with a focus on becoming a transformational coach.

This journey has enhanced my ability to hold space for individuals to ‘remember who they are, discover what they love, and be true to themselves’ (Authentic to the Core, Lori-Anne Demers).

To enrich my personal and spiritual development,  I began exploring the Vedic sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda in 1996, and became a Certified Yoga Instructor (500H RYT), and Art of Living SKY Breath Meditation Instructor over many years. It is a never-ending journey to the core of my being,  connecting to the Divine within in service of the greater good.

Mother Nature is an extension of me and one of my greatest teachers. In recent years I have found joy in integrating horses, elephants, lions, trees, plant life and bodies of water into my coaching practice through Inter-species Facilitated Leadership & Wellbeing Coaching.  These too our ways to connect to my core, and to enable my clients to do so too.

I was blessed to have been born in one of the wildest parts of the world, Mbabane in Eswatini (formerly Swaziland). I grew up and was educated in South Africa, and forever grateful for, and inspired by, the African people, the land and wildlife.

I now get to live in another of the world’s most beautiful regions: the ancestral, traditional and unceded territory of the Syilx (Okanagan) First Nation in Kelowna, British Columbia,  Canada.

I am an artist by nature, a dancer, a drummer, a writer and inter-species communicator.  I love the feel of clay between my fingers as I sculpt, or the delight that acrylic pouring brings, or the joy that conscious dance reveals,  and the transformational power of words in a poem or a children’s book.

One of my greatest gifts is being a mum to two precious boys.  Daily I am humbled by what they bring to the world and that they chose me as their mother (although they don’t believe they had a choice!).  I am forever grateful to my mum, dad, and two sisters for their role in supporting me through life.
