One of the greatest gifts I have received over the past 25 years are ancient Vedic meditation, breathing and yoga practices.
As the ancient Japanese saying goes: “When the student is ready, the teacher appears”. It seems that when adversity strikes in my life, particularly in the area of relationships and career, wise sages, elders and spiritual mentors have mysteriously appeared to guide me on the next step of my journey.
My journey with formal meditation began in 1996 when I was going through a tough relationship breakup and was introduced to Transcendental Meditation in Johannesburg. Later when I was going through my divorce and became a single mum after immigrating to Canada, I was introduced to the Art of Living, Sudarshan Kriya (SKY) Breath Meditation, Sahaj Samadhi meditation and Sri Sri Yoga in 2009.
The Art of Living programs have had such a transformational impact on my life that I decided to undertake the extensive and rigorous training to become an Art of Living and Sri Sri Yoga Instructor (500H RYT) over several years in order to teach SKY Breath Meditation and the Sri Sri Yoga Foundation Program. And so I now say: “When the teacher is ready, the students appear.”
